Workshop Description:
Solo arranging on the uke is a great way to boost your skill level and creativity. This class will look at a few popular melodies, such as “Amazing Grace,” and guide you through different recipes of how to play both the chords and melody at the same time. Participants should be in the advanced beginner range, i.e. – able to strum and change chords without pause in tempo. Some fingerpicking and theory knowledge is helpful, but not necessary.

Rock, folk, blues, jazz, classical — You can find fingerpicking in all styles of music. This workshop will explore a variety of one, two and three finger patterns and lead you through the basics of fingerpicking on the ‘ukulele.

Workshop Description:
Chords, strumming, melody lines…. How do you make it all fit together?!?! And… are you tired of everyone strumming the same pattern?!? Then this workshop is for you! This class will lead you through a variety of common strumming techniques and show you how to incorporate these into an ensemble setting. Plus we will look at a number of steps and suggestions on how to arrange songs and create parts for multiple uke players.

Beatles ‘Ukulele Workshop

Workshop Description:
The Fab Four’s music falls so nicely upon the uke’s fretboard. This workshop will lead you through some classics and a few selections perfect for solo arrangements. We will work on specific strum patterns for the songs, fingerpicking, singing, and various ways to play the Beatles with others! There will be handouts, but also bring your Daily Uke Book (the yellow one!).
